You know, I’m not really an oatmeal guy… Reminds me of being a kid in the winter with no cereal or milk in the house, and this was the only alternative… With an inch thick of dust on top of the container, I would look and sigh, wondering if snowy grass outback would be a better alternative. But this recipe, with granola as well? Come on, done dude!

  • 4 cups water
  • 1¾ cups old-fashioned oats
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1⁄4 teaspoon salt
  • ¾ cup vegan granola, homemade or store-bought

In a large saucepan, bring the water to a boil over high heat. Reduce the heat to low, stir in the oats, cinnamon, and salt. Simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Remove from the heat and stir in the granola. Cover and let stand for about 3 minutes before serving… Makes 4 to 6 servings
