…as tends to happen a lot at the ole gym. That’s usually followed by being out of breath while also tired and yet ravenous at the same time. All to say, you’re not necessarily in your most natural state when working out. Couple that with the AC being off-line at the upper level when it’s already warm and bam, you’ve got an earthy fog of heat, sweat, running equipment, and dollar store cleaners sitting out in the sun too long.

So tonight was core night; or as I say a night that ends with Y. (SEE WHAT I DID THERE?!) To me, a sculpted core is a sign of commitment, strength, health and well being. However doing a bunch of crunches and that one exercise where you’re on your back moving side to side awkwardly is only the start.

Now the best worst part is that they’re all there, my abs that is. I’m not talking about how like, yes, we all have them, even if some are buried under layers of self hate, bad decisions and burritos. I mean like when lying down or flexing in the right way, you can see them and definitely feel them. (Even got the V going too, which was something I thought would like, never be a thing in my 20’s sadly)

So back to the point, which is working core by doing the ‘stirring the pot’ exercise on my trusty green exercise ball, with it being at least twenty five degrees warmer… On top of no air circulation and a persistent need to keep wiping the ball down. And after doing cardio (cause I mean come on, cardio is life) stretching and other exercises, I was soaked.

I carped to a friend about just that, who then suggested I go cool off in the showers. I promptly reintroduced myself as I assumed his momentary memory loss would also cause him to forget my name. Either way, I got the job done and then some, but here’s hoping the AC is fixed next time because I’m not exactly cottoning to losing half my body weight in sweat.
